A despondent young woman discovers blissful detachment after she chooses to become a vampire – only to discover that her new clutch is being hunted by their primeval, nihilistic ancestor.
What is the legacy of abuse? How much control do we really have over our trauma? These are the questions at the heart of 15 to Sunrise.
15 to Sunrise is a story about the timeless nature of trauma, abuse, and grief hidden within the guise of a blood-soaked, early 2000’s film-inspired, subterranean, vampiric hellscape that seeks to ask more questions than it answers and leave the audience wanting more.
The Characters

Caring for her dying mother has left Ruby Capps, an already unsure and unstable young woman, overwhelmed and looking for any way out. After a particularly devastating maternal interaction, Ruby retreats to a newfound place of solace, a local goth bar called, “The Midnight.” There, Ruby meets a set of enigmatic characters who offer her a choice that has as much power to invigorate her life as to destroy it.

The movie’s primary antagonist, Billy is known by many names as he often adopts personalities to suit his cryptic ends. In truth, Billy is a near-mythic figure, continually referenced and feared by the story’s other characters, who’s responsible for the film’s darkest turns. He’s the oldest creature in our story and his many long years on planet Earth

Oudinet de Villiers, an accomplished violinist, became a vampire in pre-Renaissance Paris – and has been chasing that era’s enchantment ever since. As times and tastes evolved, Oudinet regressed. For many long years, he’s been stuck in the past and vicious toward anyone whose talent, he believes, might overshadow his own.

A vampire priestess, sexual deviant, and biblical myth, Salome is one of the older vampires in our cast – and she wants what she wants when she wants it. She is driven by the persistent need to be adored and can only feel at home when sucking the marrow out of every pleasurable moment. But this attitude has dark consequences and, before the film’s events have concluded, Salome will face them.

A tech goddess, multimillionaire, and fashion icon, Miloslava is a vampire like none other. Regular corporate interfacing with humans complicates the relationship Miloslava has to her prey - and other vampires have taken notice. To add yet more fuel to this fire, several years ago Miloslava married a human named Jhon, her company’s C.F.O. and long-time lover. Miloslava’s embrace of this human, as well as her advocating of a technocratic future for vampire-kind, challenges the authority she assumes in our band as the film progresses.

His jet-black attire and sunken eyes may lead him to look the part of a vampire, but Vesago doesn’t quite know how to play the part. He’s searched for the mythic progenitor of vampire-kind for centuries, hoping they’ll reveal vampirism’s “purest form.” Vesago is single-minded, prone to worship, and delusional about both himself and his species.

The legacy of Ruby's mother, deceased before the beginning of our film, hangs over the entire story. As Ruby struggles to move past the years of trauma and abuse suffered at Anna's hands, she begins to see her in the surrounding environment. Anna thus appears as both a reminder of Ruby's horrifying past and the gateway to her dark future.
