If you’ve been craving a vampire film that actually has teeth—one that crawls under your skin and refuses to let go—we’ve got news that’ll make your cold, dead heart beat again.
“15 to Sunrise” has officially won the Nosferatu Film Festival Vampire Film Contest and will be unleashed upon audiences in Austin, Texas from February 27 through March 1.
For the uninitiated, the Nosferatu Festival is exactly what it sounds like: a celebration of all things vampire, held in honor of the OG himself, Count Orlok. This isn’t your sparkly, brooding, teen romance vampire territory. This is the real deal.
And “15 to Sunrise”? It fits right in.
The premise: A despondent young woman discovers blissful detachment after choosing to become a vampire—only to learn that her new clutch is being hunted by their primeval, nihilistic ancestor.
Yeah. Read that again.
This isn’t just another vampire flick. Dripping with early 2000s horror energy and drenched in blood, “15 to Sunrise” descends into a subterranean vampiric hellscape to wrestle with questions most films don’t have the guts to ask: What is the legacy of abuse? How much control do we really have over our trauma?
The filmmakers aren’t interested in giving you neat, tidy answers. They want to leave you unsettled. Hungry. Wanting more.

If you’re in or around Austin at the end of February, mark your calendars. This is the kind of festival screening that reminds you why you fell in love with horror in the first place—dark rooms, fellow creatures of the night, and a film that understands that the best vampire stories have always been about something deeper than fangs.
See you in the shadows.
